Rachel Thomas, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, has been practicing therapy since 1997. She is a Certified Emotionally Focused Therapist and Supervisor and specializes in working with couples to create healing and connection. In addition to extensive EFT training, Rachel is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) which is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma.
Rachel is an American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) Approved Supervisor and has provided supervision to many other practicing professionals as they progress forward in obtaining their license. She provides clinical supervision to the therapists at Therapy With Heart as well as outside clinicians who contract for additional EFT supervision and consultation.
Rachel was the Director of Training for the AzEFT Board for years and is actively involved in the EFT community. Rachel worked as an adjunct instructor at Ottawa University and the Professor In Charge of the Marriage and Family Therapy Concentration in the Graduate Counseling Department. She is actively involved in New Song Center for Grieving Children and Hospice of the Valley. She is also a member of RESOLVE, the National Infertility Association, as well as being a member of the AzAMFT Board’s Supervision Committee
Rachel has always focused her work with clients and supervises on creating a safe space for all people to feel accepted and heard.
