Jordan Canady is a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (LAMFT). Jordan obtained his Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Arizona State University. He pursued becoming a therapist because he has a passion for helping others and has personally witnessed the positive results that can be achieved through therapy. He is intentional about creating a safe, accepting therapeutic relationship so his clients can then create the change they are seeking. Jordan believes that people consciously and unconsciously seek safe and fulfilling relationships and that when these desires and needs are not met there will be tension, panic, pain, and/or uncertainty. By walking alongside his clients through their journey, Jordan will help all people become more empowered, mindful, and intentional to forge the safe and fulfilling relationship they are looking for.
During his time in the mental health field, Jordan has become well-versed in working with individuals, couples, couples with children, and youth. More specifically, Jordan has addressed concerns in the following categories: Serious Mental Illnesses (SMI) and substance abuse, marital/pre-marital counseling, trauma, parenting and co-parenting, blended families, relationships, and emerging adulthood. Jordan’s passion for helping others is evident in his work and in the positive relationships he builds with his clients.
Jordan is training in Emotionally Focused Therapy and works from this model in his couples therapy. He works with couples to help identify their negative cycles and create new conversations and deeper connection.
