Halina Brooke is a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy candidate at
Capella University. She is excited to join Therapy With Heart as a student intern
under the supervision of Rachel Thomas, LMFT and Bonnie Lewis, LMFT.
Halina offers steadfast support to families, couples, adolescents and adults as they
navigate relationship challenges, caregiving responsibilities, anxiety and depression,
medical and body issues, life transitions and overwhelm. She finds tremendous joy
in connecting with and supporting clients exactly as they are in this moment,
centering their values, hopes, feelings and insights throughout.
Halina’s collaborative style offers a safe and encouraging space to face, explore and
move through the issues that bring them to therapy. She has completed advanced
training in Narrative Therapy, a transformative and non-judgmental framework that
centers clients’ existing expertise in their own lives—lived experiences, values,
meaning and skills—as they navigate life’s challenges. She is also continuing with
extensive training in Emotionally Focused Therapy, which helps couples, as well as
individuals and families, move through relationship distress toward stronger
connection and lasting, positive outcomes.
Halina is also a passionate educator, advocate and researcher. She comes to
Therapy With Heart having worked in educational settings for the past fifteen years,
most recently teaching and mentoring psychology students as a lab instructor at
Capella University. She is also involved in research and advocacy for individuals and
families navigating medical concerns, and enjoys speaking on this topic to both
professional and lay audiences. Halina is also a member of the American
Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).
