Meet Eileen Filippone, LAC
Eileen is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC-14066) who has over 10 years of experience working with a wide array of individuals, families, and couples with numerous challenges, including: family struggles, marital problems, trauma, grief, depression, and anxiety, as well as other concerns. Eileen is pleased to be currently working with a specific focus on relationships within couples and families. Prior to entering the counseling field Eileen raised a family while owning a business, and was involved in numerous charities; including sponsoring children from war-torn countries in her home.
Eileen believes life can be difficult for everyone, whether it be strife in relationships, feeling invalidated and lonely, family conflict, trauma, grief, an unexpected diagnosis, or any unanticipated disappointment or setback. The most fundamental difference between those who find hope and resolution, and those who continue to struggle, is often the connection and support of family and loved ones.
Eileen’s goal as a therapist is to guide couples and families to overcome obstacles that impede the trust and security of the relationship. Unhappy relationships can be a source of significant stress and insecurity, which may undermine the confidence and courage required to meet the challenges of life. Eileen will employ the Emotionally Focused Therapy model to guide families and couples to gain a deeper understanding of one another, alter patterns of communication that contribute to hurt and defensiveness, and strengthen or regain deep trust and connection with one another.
Eileen understands that it may be difficult to address these issues and practices a compassionate, client centered-approach. This means Eileen understands that your culture, identity, family of origin and environment, have all contributed to how you view the world and your relationships, and she honors your experience.
